Imagine if YOU could achieve all of the GOALS you set/ 30 DAYS FREE ALAMANCE COUNTY MARTIAL ARTS

What would it be like if you became an expert at Setting AND

Getting Goals for yourself? What would that mean to you and your

family?

For the kids it might mean better grades, better fitness levels,

and increasing the number of high quality friendships they enjoy.

For the adults, it might mean becoming more productive and thus

more successful in your career, the ability to get and stay

healthy, and living a life filled with excitement and fun. You do

know that it’s truly possible to achieve all of this, don’t you?

Why are you hearing this from a Martial Arts Instructor? Good

question, I’m glad you asked!

Most people don’t realize that one of the many benefits of martial

arts training is the skill set of success that all students are

taught here at Champions Martial Arts. From day 1 at our

school, students are taught how to set a goal that is worthwhile and

achievable. Then, our instructors work with them until they

actually achieve that very goal. Many say that becoming a member

at our school is like hiring your very own success coach…How cool

is that?

Obviously, after our students achieve their first goal, we help

them set another slightly larger goal and, yup, you guessed it, we

help them work towards and eventually achieve that goal as well.

This goes on and on and on until Goal Setting and Goal Getting

becomes an every-day habit. As we say here at Champions

Martial Arts, Habits we Train are Habits we Gain!

Are you ready to gain some habits that are SURE TO POSITIVELY

IMPACT YOUR LIFE??? I sure hope so.

I’d like to make a SPECIAL OFFER to help YOU become a Goal

Getter…If you’re one of the first 10 people to reply to this

Ultimate Fighting Championship 121 Recap/ MMA training in North Carolina 30 Days Free at Champions

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC 121) had a fantastic event last weekend. If you watched the main cards you saw Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioners dominate position. Jake Shields a Cesar Gracie brazilian jiu jistu black belt won a decision over Martin Kampmann, a Muay Thai practitioner. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the most powerful tool when getting into a clinch and going into the ground. Also Cain Velasquez dropped Brock Lesnar and then proceeded to control him with Jiu Jitsu techniques to win the Heavy weight championship. The Velasquez era has begun but will face an imposing challenge against Junior Dos Santos in his first title defense. Furthermore,Diego Sanchez had an impressive performance against an always game Paulo Thiago winning the decision against the Brazilian. You can check out all of our grappling classes at www.ChampionsKick.com.

Cross training in Martial Arts helps in School athletics/ 30 Days FREE Champions Martial Arts

Cross training in Martial Arts will help your child excel in team sports. With any team sports there are sport specific training methods, to aid the athlete in whatever their sport may be. This is true even with the Martial Arts. What is beneficial about martial arts training is that exercises designed to improve the martial athlete benefit the entire body.

For example the practice of the round house kick (a kick designed to strike horizontally, to generate the rotational force in the hip and back, can easily translate to a soccer style kick, or a field goal kick in football. Another example would be the basic cross (rear hand punch) follows very closely to the path a baseball player would use to throw a ball.

A great example of this is one of my students, who attends Southern High school, and is also a grappling team member, recently had to compete in his school’s annual fitness competition. In his group for his age he was in the upper percentile for health achievement. This he and his mother attributed to the time that he put in training in his martial arts.

If you are interested in having your child excel in team sports and personal development, feel free to visit us at www.ChampionsKick.comand to learn about our 30 Day FREE trial program.

Ready for the solution for your weight loss problems/ 1 week FREE Champions XFit

Are you ready for the reason your last weight loss program didn’t
work?

Discovering this important lesson is by far one of the key areas
that separate those who continue to make long-term progress from
those who end up getting discouraged and quit.

To be successful in anything, you need to track your progress and
then decipher the data. You need to know what areas you can improve
upon and what tools were successful in helping you to achieve
certain milestones.

Losing belly fat is no different…

The problem is most weight loss programs are happy to sell you on
how to lose weight (notice I didn’t say body fat) in the short
term. Honestly, pretty much any system can help you see lower
numbers on the scale for the first 3-4 weeks, but after that,
things start to change…

All of sudden you stopped losing water weight and the scale isn’t
budging.

What gives?

At this point you’ve become fed up with the program and feel like
you are destined to be overweight. You lose hope of ever shrinking
your waistline again.

Trust me, It’s not your fault… these are short terms diets you’ve
just experimented with. They aren’t even meant to help you lose
weight in the long run or even maintain the weight loss you
temporarily experienced.

I want you to take the first steps in designing your very own weight loss success kit.

Creating Your Journal:

Be sure to take before and after photos, measurements, waist-to-hip
ratio, your weight, body fat percentage, strength analysis,
flexibility assessments, and keep a daily eating and workout log.

You will want to continue updating most of these on a weekly basis.
These baselines will not only keep you honest with yourself, but
you will have your very own success journal laid out for you in
just a few short months.

Your journal will serve as a reference for looking back at patterns
where you lost more weight during specific times, as well as where
you plateau or gained weight when you didn’t adhere to your
program.

Everyone always assumes they have been more disciplined throughout
the day than may actually be true and that’s where your journal
comes into play. If you’re forced to write everything down, then
not only will you be less likely to cheat, but you’ll find yourself
planning out your day more efficiently to develop healthier habits
and routines. (I can personally say that I am guilty of cheating
sometimes if I know that I am not going to be held accountable…)

No one likes taking before and after statistics and you would
probably prefer to forget you ever weighed what you did, but you’ll
be happy you took all these measurements after you’ve attained the
look you’ve always wanted.

The biggest complaint I hear from my clients is that they wish they
took a before photo! (Don’t make the same mistake they did…)
Again, here’s a sample of the entries you can create in your
journal:
Photos
Weight
BMI
Measurements
Waist-to-Hip Ratio
Strength Analysis
Flexibility
Daily Eating Log
Daily Activity/Workout Log

I hope you are starting to believe that losing your rolls of belly
fat is well within reach.

Enjoy the journey that awaits – it’s going to be fun and rewarding!

Call us at 919-563-2622 to enjoy a FREE WEEK of Xfit and start your journey to the body that you want!!!!!!!!!!!

UFC 120 Results/ 30 Days Free MMA at Champions Martial Arts

UFC 120 “Bisping vs. Akiyama” from the O2 Arena in London, England.

Hot-and-cold middleweight Michael Bisping wanted to show the hometown crowd once and for all that he is indeed a contender for the promotion’s 185-pound strap. And after today’s performance across the pond, not even International superstar Yoshihiro Akiyama can argue against him. That’s because “The Count” worked his way to a unanimous decision victory, surviving a “Sexy” onslaught in the opening round to eventually settle down and pull away in the second half of the fight. There were eye-pokes and groin shots galore, but in the end, Bisping was both technical and methodical, while Akiyama seemed wild and desperate. The hometown hero convinced the judges that he did enough to win — but did he convince you that he’s ready for a shot at the middleweight champion in 2011?

Dan Hardy vs. Carlos Condit served as the co-featured fight of the night, with each man trying to hold their place in line in what’s quickly becoming a crowded 170-pound title picture. In his last appearance, Hardy would last five rounds against division champion Georges St. Pierre, one of the world’s top pound-for-pound fighters. Tonight, he would last only one. That’s because Condit turned him from “Outlaw” to origami after folding him up with a thunderous left hook, one that crumpled the trash-talking Brit in front of his cheering fans. A few head bouncers would shut off the lights for good, and the “Natural Born Killer” has officially put the rest of his division on notice. We already knew Condit had good jits. Now we now he has knockout power to go with it. Who’s next for ever-improving Greg Jackson-disciple? And how far down the ladder has Hardy tumbled?

Are you out of shape? Haven’t worked out in years? Never done something like this before?

Well it doesn’t matter

Our classes are designed to meet the needs of a brand new student that is attending for the very first time. Many new students think that you should get in shape on your own before starting training. That is the furthest thing from the truth.
You’ll absolutely love the easy and relaxed environment we have set up in our classes.

“At Champions every detail is broken down and explained clearly. Instructor Marc makes certain that we have a strong understanding of the basics and a solid foundation before moving onto more advanced techniques. The environment is friendly with an emphasis on safety.”

Patrick Murphy
Mebane

“One of the best features of Marc Fletcher’s BJJ class is the type of students that he attracts and teaches. This is very important, because while Marc is a good instructor, you’ll actually spend most of your class time training and rolling with his students.

While most are quite competitive, they are also very willing to give advice and explain to you why you got into the position you were in and ways to prevent that in the future. Instructor Marc encourages this attitude from his students and demonstrates this himself. You won’t be left alone feeling “I can never lean this”. Someone will always be willing to help and if you are ever in doubt, just ask.”

Mike West
Burlington, NC

End the Bullying/ 30 Days Free at Champions Martial Arts

Attention Parents!

Join with Champions Martial Arts to Stop Bullying Before It Starts
Please take this opportunity to educate yourself about an issue that affects 30%, or more than 5.7 million, of children and youth in the United States because that is how many of them are estimated to be bullies, have been the victims of bullying or both.

Many of you may remember bullying incidents in your youth, and now in adulthood may think it’s just part of growing and it never really affected you. You would be one of the fortunate ones, for bullying has much to do with stunting a child’s emotional and intellectual growth, even if it never has more than minor physical effects.

Studies and statistics support the conclusions.
• Studies show that bullies are generally physically aggressive, hot-tempered, easily angered and impulsive, with a low tolerance for frustration.

• Children and youth who are bullied are typically anxious, insecure and cautious and suffer from low self-esteem, rarely defending themselves. Bullied students often have problems concentrating in school.

• There appears to be a strong relationship between childhood bullying and adult legal and criminal problems.

• Adults who were bullied as youth have higher levels of depression and poorer self-esteem than other adults.

The evidence leaves little doubt that bullying is an issue that requires the attention of all adults in our community; and maybe the biggest reason is that social scientists and the studies they conduct support the concept that bullying is a precursor to the deadly gun-violence occurring in too many high schools. In many cases, bullying escalates to violence because of earlier confrontations over relatively petty issues or intolerance for others’ points-of-view.

Champions Martial Arts Academy’s program emphasizes
• Self-defense training prepares children for confrontation, as it teaches them how to avoid confrontation.

• Martial arts replaces a bullied child’s insecurity and low self-esteem with confidence and a greater self worth.

• Martial arts channels a bully’s aggressiveness and anger into healthful physical activity, discipline and a positive attitude.

• Martial arts helps to create the child who will become the educated, well-employed and socially conscious adult.

• Martial arts gives your child the skills and attitude to help “break free from bullying.” Talk with your school administrators about starting a “break free from bullying” program.

•Martial arts training will prepare your child to live a full and satisfying life, despite many of society’s ills.

•Martial arts helps to reduce a child’s fear of the harmful elements in the world, while providing them with the physical, intellectual and spiritual skills to conquer their fears.

Part of our duty as martial arts instructors is to help our students become positive role models throughout their lives. Part of your duty as a parent is to provide your child with the opportunities and skills that martial arts teaches, so you know they are as prepared as possible to live successfully, even as violence continues to be a deeply ingrained trait of the human character.

The National Youth Violence Prevention Resource Center

Web site at www.safeyouth.org provides additional information and links about bullying and other youth safety issues.

Champions Martial Arts Academy is ready to contribute its professional expertise to help you, your child and our community stop the bullying before it starts.

This has been part of the curriculum of our martial arts school for years because martial arts training is part of the solution.
